| 10th Recon appeared and disappears, and re-appeared in
the course of the Division's history. Sometimes (incorrectly)
called 10th Cav., the 10th Mountain Mounted Reconnaissance Troup was
reportedly made up of men from the Mountain Training Command who wanted
to deploy with the Division, and this was where they were assigned en
mass. In Texas, they were trained in mounted operations, and
apparently operated on horseback in Italy from time to time.
Pretty good for a bunch of ski instructors and climbing instructors!
